(803) 353-0563Republic Services Northeast Sanitary Landfill is the big burial-type landfill just off Westvaco Road in Eastover. Locals - homeowners with big cleanups and commercial haulers alike - use this place when trash needs to be taken to the final disposal site. It’s a large operation, so expect truck traffic and a real working-yard feel.
Drive past an entrance booth area and then up to a drive-on scale; loads are charged by weight so vehicles usually stop twice, once in and again out. The tipping area is a mix of compacted cells and working faces where material gets spread and covered, with large earth mounds visible from the road. Commercial trucks are common and accepted, so there’s room for larger rigs; smaller pickups pull up to the same areas and often back to the unloading face. Traffic can be noisy and dusty, and the site looks like an industrial pit with heavy equipment moving material around.
