(803) 755-3325Lexington County Collection and Recycling Center at River Chase is the county recycling spot in Lexington where locals drop off household recyclables and bulk items. Neighbors, small pickup loads and people doing a bit of spring cleaning all use it. It's the kind of place to plan a short stop into when cleaning out the garage or yard.
The site is a paved lot with a small entrance booth and a few large roll-off containers and bins stretched out along the drive; pull up to the booth first and follow the arrows. Recycling containers for cardboard, paper, plastics, metal and glass are grouped together, with separate areas for larger items and yard debris a little further in. Expect to stop again at a scale or exit station if bringing a larger load - county centers often charge by weight for big drop-offs. Weekends fill up, especially during spring cleanup, so the line can back up onto the access road.
