Lexington County Collection and Recycling Center at Edmund

325 Landfill Ln, Lexington, SC 29073

(803) 755-3325

This is the Lexington County Collection and Recycling Center at Edmund, the county recycling spot over on Landfill Lane that locals bring their household recyclables to. Neighbors drop off things from curbside overflow to bigger loads that won’t fit in their carts. It’s the kind of place people use when something won’t get picked up on the regular route.

Drive up the access road and there’s a small entrance booth and gate area where vehicles pause before entering the working area. The site is open-air with a few large concrete bays and roll-off containers; recycling bins are usually grouped together a short drive past the entrance. Materials commonly accepted at centers like this include cardboard, paper, glass, metals and many plastics, and sometimes there are special drop-off programs for electronics, tires or household hazardous items during scheduled events. Weekends and spring cleanup times tend to be the busiest, so expect lines and vehicle maneuvering as people sort and unload.

Before You Go

  • Bring items already separated by type and flattened where possible - that makes unloading quicker and keeps the line moving.
  • Use a pickup truck or trailer with tarps to keep loose items contained; tight backing into the bays helps avoid blocking traffic.
  • Plan for lineups on Saturday mornings and during community cleanups; arriving later in the day on weekdays often means less waiting.
