(864) 942-8754Greenwood County Solid Waste Landfill is the county landfill out on Siloam Church Road that locals use when trash won’t fit in the regular pickup or for large cleanouts. Neighbors and small haulers bring residential and commercial loads here to be buried in the landfill. The place is practical and big - not a transfer station or drop-off center, but the final burying spot.
There’s a scale at the entrance so vehicles stop to be weighed; charges are assessed by weight with a tipping fee structure rather than flat per-trip pricing. Pull up to an entrance booth and be prepared to drive onto the scale, then follow the signs or staff directions to the active dumping cell. The site is open, with heavy equipment and compacted soil visible; plan on circling back over the scale when leaving. Weekends and spring cleanups can get backed up, so expect some waiting during busy times.
