(843) 462-7631Dorchester County Solid Waste is the county-run solid waste facility on E Main Street that residents use for household trash, yard debris, and common recycling drop-offs. Neighbors and contractors both come through here when they need to get rid of larger loads that won't fit at regular curbside pickup.
There’s an entrance booth and a drive lane that leads into the main tipping area; expect to stop at the booth and then pull forward to where the bins and piles are. A scale and weigh station are usually along the drive path so trucks and trailers go over it before or after unloading. The site is open-air with large concrete pads and roll-off containers, and recycling bins are typically grouped off to one side near the entrance road. Weekends and spring cleanup times tend to have longer lines, so traffic and waiting can be common.
