(401) 569-3977Blackstone Valley (Pawtucket) Transfer Station is the local transfer station on Grotto Ave that residents use to drop off household trash and recyclables before it gets compacted and trucked out to the state's landfill. People from Pawtucket and nearby towns swing by when hauling a load that’s too much for curbside pickup or when a quick trip to a transfer point is more convenient than driving to the central landfill.
Drive up to the front where there’s a small entrance booth and a lane to pull into; there’s usually a scale near the entrance so vehicles get weighed in and again on the way out. The site is mostly open pavement with large roll-off bays and compactors; recycling containers tend to sit off to one side. Weekends, especially spring cleanup days, often have a line of cars and trucks, so be prepared for a short wait. Staff will direct traffic but bring everything ready to unload so the stop goes quickly.
