Regulated by the Pennsylvania DEP like other landfills in the state, this is a private facility that routinely accepts commercial loads as well as residential traffic.
Drive up to an entrance booth and be prepared to stop at a scale; landfills charge by weight so a weigh-in and weigh-out is typical. The site is large with heavy equipment moving and piles of cover material and compacted trash visible from the access road. After the scale, traffic is routed to a tipping area where trucks back in to unload; expect trucks and loaders to be active, so watch for blind spots. Lines form on weekends and during spring cleanup season, so busy periods can add a fair bit of waiting time.
