(717) 762-4413Small transfer station in Waynesboro where residents haul smaller loads to be compacted and shipped on to a landfill. Locals drop by with trash, yard debris and bags from cleanup days; it’s mostly used by people who don’t want to drive to a big county landfill.
Drive up to an entrance booth and be prepared to stop at a scale; vehicles often pause twice - in and out. The site is mostly concrete and metal bays with a few roll-off areas and a big compactor pile in the middle. Lines form on weekend mornings and during spring cleanup, so there can be a short wait before getting to the drop-off point. Staff typically direct traffic from the booth to the proper bay, and trucks collect the compacted loads for transport off site.
