Valley Landfill

6015 Pleasant Valley Rd., Irwin, PA 15642

800-963-4776

Valley Landfill is Irwin’s local landfill where household and commercial loads end up buried. Neighbors, landscapers and haulers all use it for final disposal, and it’s plainly a big open site on Pleasant Valley Road. Expect a working, no-frills place rather than anything fancy.

Drive in past an entrance booth and you’ll see a scale-drivers usually stop on the way in and again on the way out since tipping is by weight. The site is large with compacted earth, rolling capped sections, and areas for active dumping; trucks pull up to drop loads and then move off to compactors or cover areas. Traffic can back up at busy times, so lines and idling trucks are common. Recycling or drop-off containers, if present, are typically off to one side, not mixed into the main dumping area.

Before You Go

  • Secure loads with tarps or straps; loose debris can spill during the approach and hold up traffic.
  • Have materials separated as much as possible before arriving so unloading goes faster and keeps other drivers moving.
  • Try to arrive earlier in the day or midweek to avoid weekend backup, especially during yard cleanup season.
