Tioga County Landfill

540 Old Bluff Rd, Blossburg, PA 16912

(570) 638-2107

Tioga County Landfill is the county landfill just outside Blossburg that serves both household and commercial haulers. It's the place where trash is buried rather than transferred elsewhere. Locals and small businesses drop off loads here when town collection or transfer stations aren't an option.

Drive up Old Bluff Road to a rural site with a single entrance and an entrance booth area; there’s a scale on site so vehicles are weighed. Drivers generally pull up, get weighed, then proceed to the tipping face or instructed unloading spot and return to the scale to be weighed out. The site is large and has the rolled earth, compacted piles, and equipment typical of a landfill rather than a neat transfer station. Expect some waiting at busy times-trucks and trailers can queue, and the turnaround involves stopping twice because fees are assessed by weight.

Before You Go

  • Have loads secured and tarps off before reaching the booth so unloading goes faster and everyone can see what’s being dumped.
  • Plan to be weighed in and weighed out; know roughly how much the truck carries so there are no surprises on the bill.
  • Avoid peak times like weekend spring cleanup if possible-longer lines are common and bring extra time for the whole trip.
