Lycoming County Landfill on Alexander Drive (Route 15) is the county landfill outside Montgomery where trash is taken to be buried. Residents, local haulers and landscaping crews use it; county-run landfills often accept commercial loads as well.
There’s the usual landfill setup - an entrance booth and a scale are part of the process, and tipping fees are typically charged by weight so expect to be weighed. Pull up to the booth/scale, then follow the gravel lanes toward the active drop area; heavy equipment and mounded cells are easy to spot. The site looks industrial with dirt roads and uneven surfaces, so drive slowly and be prepared for short delays while trucks maneuver.
