Transfer Station

Southern Oregon Transfer Station

905 Kerby Mainline Rd, Kerby, OR 97531

(541) 479-5335

Small transfer station on Kerby Mainline that locals use when they don't want to drive all the way to a distant landfill. Mostly serves residents with pickup loads, trailers, or small cleanups from nearby towns. The site compacts loads and trucks them out to a landfill elsewhere, so it usually feels quicker than a long landfill run.

Look for a small entrance booth and a scale area near the driveway; vehicles often stop there to check in or be weighed. The yard is modest in scale with a paved drive and a compactor area, and maneuvering a long trailer can be tight. Recycling bins and drop-off spots are typically off to one side past the booth, so plan to swing right if dropping recyclables. Because fees and accepted materials vary by location, many transfer stations charge by weight and a stop on the way out is common.

Before You Go

  • Secure loads with tarps and straps-loose items and dust blow everywhere on the highway and in the yard.
  • Avoid weekends and spring-cleanup crowds if possible; arrive early in the day or midweek to reduce wait time.
  • Have the truck bed or trailer sorted before pulling up: separate anything that might be recyclable and remove anything blocking the tailgate so dumping goes faster.
