(541) 745-2018Republic Services Coffin Butte Landfill is the big regional landfill just outside Corvallis, used by homeowners cleaning out garages and by commercial haulers hauling big loads. It’s where trash ends up when it can’t be recycled or reused, and both residential and commercial vehicles use it regularly.
The site is large-expect to see a scalehouse near the entrance where vehicles are weighed and tipping fees are calculated by weight. Pull up to the booth and follow attendants’ directions for where to dump; there’s usually a clear traffic flow with separate lanes for different types of vehicles. The tipping area and working faces are visible from the drive-in, with rows of compacted layers and heavy equipment moving material around. On busy weekends or spring clean-up times, lines can form at the entrance and at the scale.
