(541) 822-3748Small transfer station off McKenzie Highway in Blue River used by locals hauling household trash, bulky items and recyclables. It’s the kind of place people stop at when a trip to the distant landfill isn’t worth it. Folks from the area, cabins and nearby farms use it regularly.
There’s a little pay booth at the entrance and a scale somewhere near the drive-in, so plan to stop twice-the first stop to check in and the second to leave with a weight ticket. The site looks like a working yard: roll-off containers, compacting equipment and the occasional large truck moving loads. Recycling and bottle-return rules in Oregon mean there will be sorting requirements and separate containers for different materials. Lines form on weekends and during spring cleanup, and the ground can be dusty or muddy depending on weather.
