A small transfer station used by Reedsport residents to drop off household trash and recyclables before it’s hauled to a larger landfill. Locals swing by with pickup loads, small trailers, or neighborhood cleanups when hauling straight to a distant landfill isn’t desired.
Drive up to a gate and an attendant booth where staff handle vehicle directions; there’s typically a scale to cross so trucks get weighed in and then out. Pull forward to the drop-off area and unload into a compactor or into clearly labeled containers; recyclables are often grouped off to one side. The site looks utilitarian - gravel or paved drives, concrete tipping area, and a couple of large roll-off containers - and lines can form on weekend mornings or during spring cleanups.
