(541) 317-3163Deschutes County Solid Waste (Knott Landfill) is the county landfill on SE 27th that handles household trash and larger commercial loads from around Bend. Locals and haulers use it when curbside options won’t cut it or when there’s a big cleanout to dump.
Drive up to a staffed entrance booth and get weighed on a large scale - tipping fees are charged by weight or by load, so expect to stop twice. Big roll-off trucks and pickup loads share the same lanes; the site is wide open with dirt roads, piles of cover material, and the familiar rumble of machinery. There are separate spots for recycling and bulky-item drop-offs a short drive from the main tipping area, and lines can form on weekends or during spring cleanup. Bring patience for slow-moving traffic inside the yard and be ready to follow attendants’ directions when dumping.
