Coffin Butte Landfill on Coffin Butte Road is the large landfill serving Corvallis-area trash haulers and residents with big loads. Trucks, trailers, and commercial haulers use it alongside people clearing out garages or yards, so expect a working, industrial feel rather than a tidy drop-off.
The site is big - mounded cells, bulldozers and lots of trucks coming and going. There’s a scale at the entrance and tipping fees are assessed by weight, so plan to stop on the scale and then again after unloading. An entrance booth/office handles check-in and different load types are routed to separate spots; commercial loads are accepted and typically take more time to process than a pickup load. Visibility is limited in places, so move slowly and give equipment plenty of room.
