Republic Landfill is the big county landfill out on SE 69th, used by homeowners doing big cleanups and by commercial haulers dropping mixed loads. It’s the kind of place where trucks and pickups mix with roll-offs and trailers on a regular basis. Expect a no-frills, working-site vibe rather than anything shiny.
Drive in and you'll see a weigh scale near the entrance - loads are typically charged by weight, so most vehicles stop twice. There’s an intake/booth area where vehicles queue briefly before being directed to the active cells or tipping areas. The site is large and mostly bare earth and compacted piles; follow the traffic flow and stick to the routes other trucks are taking. Weekends and storm cleanup times can get backed up, so lines and tight turning with trailers are common.
Learn how to properly dispose of common items.
