Ponca City Landfill at 2501 West Riverview Road is the local place for burying municipal and commercial garbage. It’s a full-scale landfill with a drive-over scale, so haulers and residents both use it. Tipping fees are assessed by weight and commercial loads are accepted.
There’s an entrance booth and a drive-over scale where vehicles stop to be weighed in and weighed out. After that, follow the access road to the active dumping area - it’s mostly gravel and can get dusty, with large piles and heavy equipment around. Because fees are charged by weight, the scale at the gate matters, and both pickups and big trucks are commonly on site. Weekends and spring cleanup times tend to be the busiest, so lines can form.
