Lawton Landfill on SW 11th Street is the town’s main place to drop off large household and commercial loads that won’t fit in curbside service. Locals bring everything from yard debris to construction junk here when other options won’t accept it.
Drive up the entrance road and there’s usually a visible scale with a small booth nearby where trucks stop to be weighed; landfills of this type generally charge tipping fees by weight, so expect a weigh-in. The site is big and open with wide gravel drives, heavy trucks coming and going, and large working areas with piles of material and cover dirt. Lines can build up on weekends and during spring cleanup, so be prepared to wait a bit if it’s busy. Recycling or drop-off containers are often located off to the side, so it helps to have anything that needs separate handling ready to set aside.
