(866) 909-4458A working landfill on the south side of Springfield that handles final burial of solid wastes. Locals, haulers, and businesses use it for loads that need to be disposed of rather than recycled or diverted. It’s a private operation within Ohio’s mix of county and private sites, so some state rules about certain materials will apply.
There’s a drive-up entrance with a weigh scale and a small booth-vehicles usually stop at the booth first, then roll onto the scale and head in. The site is big and open: long dirt roads, mounded cells, and places where trucks tip loads into the working face. Fees are charged by weight with commercial loads accepted, so plan on being weighed on the way in and again on the way out.
