(800) 968-7789Republic Services Glenwillow Transfer Station is the local transfer station in Solon where neighborhood pickup trucks and small haulers drop off material to be compacted and sent on to a landfill. Regular residents and small contractors use it when they don't want to drive out to a distant landfill. The site sits on Pettibone Road and looks like an industrial lot rather than a polished recycling center.
Drive in and you'll see an entrance booth and a drive lane leading toward the main tipping area; there's usually a scale you pass coming and going so vehicles are weighed. Pull up to the booth first, tell them what type of load you have, then follow the signs or attendants to the tipping area. The tipping area is a big concrete pit or floor with large doors and compactors around; trucks back up to dump and loaders move material into the compactor. Weekends and spring cleanups often have a line, so be prepared to wait in your vehicle for a bit.
