Pike Sanitation Landfill

Pike Sanitation Landfill, 11775 State Route 220 E, Waverly, 45690, Ohio

Pike Sanitation Landfill on State Route 220 east of Waverly is the local burial site for municipal and commercial trash. Locals and haulers drop off loads that won’t go in curbside pickup or small transfer stations.

The site is large and industrial-rolling cells, dirt roads and heavy equipment moving around; it looks like a working construction area. There’s typically an entry booth and scale where trucks get routed, and landfills usually charge tipping fees by weight so expect a weigh-in and weigh-out. Vehicles are guided down a gravel drive to the active dumping area, unload, then head back toward the scale. It can be dusty and noisy when machinery is running, and trucks and cars move slowly through the site.

Before You Go

  • Secure loads with tarps and straps-loose debris blows everywhere on the gravel roads and can mean extra cleanup time.
  • Have any required paperwork or transport manifests ready for commercial deliveries to help move through the gate faster.
  • Avoid peak times like weekend spring-cleanup mornings when lines build up; bring water and be prepared for dust if waiting in line.
