Newtown Landfill

7960 Batavia Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45244

(513) 271-8540

Newtown Landfill is the big county landfill out on Batavia Road near the eastern edge of Cincinnati, used by residents and commercial haulers alike. It's the place where truckloads and smaller loads end up being buried, so expect a working, industrial feel rather than anything pretty.

Drive up the long access road and you'll see an entrance booth and a scale - the site charges by weight, so vehicles stop on the inbound and outbound scales. Vehicles are directed up to the active tipping face or cell; the site is large, with compacted dirt mounds and heavy equipment moving around. There are separate pull-up areas for different types of loads at many landfills, and this one handles commercial traffic as well as household loads.

Before You Go

  • Have loads secured and covered before getting to the gate; tarps and loose debris slow things down and can lead to extra handling.
  • Bring a map or GPS that shows the 7960 Batavia Rd address - the entrance is set back from the road and easy to miss if coming at highway speeds.
  • Expect slower lines on weekends and during spring cleanup; factor in extra time if dropping off a large or commercial load.
