(419) 947-7440Small-town recycling center in Mount Gilead that locals use to drop off bottles, cans, cardboard and common recyclables. Mostly serves residents and small haulers from around Morrow County, and it feels like a straightforward place to get rid of household recyclables without driving to a bigger city. Pull up to the fenced site off HPM Street-it's the type of facility people stop at between running errands nearby.
There’s a small entrance booth and a scale near the driveway, so vehicles slow down when coming in and often stop twice - once to check in and again leaving after the load is weighed. Recycling bins and bale piles are clustered a short walk from the booth, with clear piles of paper, cardboard and mixed containers visible from the driveway. Trucks and compactors are around during weekdays, so expect some backing and shifting of loads; on weekends the line of cars can stretch out toward the road during spring cleanup times. The site is fenced and industrial-looking rather than landscaped-bring sturdy shoes if planning to sort through items.
