Erie County Sanitary Landfill on Hoover Road, just outside Milan, is the county landfill where residents and local haulers bring material that’s destined to be buried. People drop off household loads and commercial trucks alike, so expect a mix of pickups and bigger rigs on site.
There’s a scale and an entrance booth, so plan on stopping to be weighed; loads are charged by weight and vehicles often queue. The site is large with gravel roads and mounded cells-maneuvering a trailer takes some room. Drivers usually pull up, get weighed, head to an unloading area, then run back across the scale on the way out. Weekends and spring-cleanup times are the busiest, with lines forming more than on a weekday morning.
