Renovating your home? Drywall, lumber, concrete, and roofing materials have different disposal rules than regular trash. Here's what to know.
Read more →Cuyahoga Regional Landfill is the big burial site out on Cochran Road that serves Solon and nearby communities. Neighbors, landscapers and haulers all use it - it's a true final-destination landfill where trash gets buried rather than processed further.
Drive up the long approach and you'll see a small entrance booth and a scale; vehicles normally stop to get weighed, so plan for a brief pause in and out. The site is large, with visible cells and working faces, lots of heavy trucks and gravel roads that kick up dust on dry days. Tipping fees are charged by weight at landfills like this, so the scale matters and commercial loads are common here. Recycling or drop-off bins, if available, are usually off to one side past the main booth rather than mixed in with the active dumping area.
