Transfer Station

Cleveland Transfer Station

7450 Oakleaf Road, 3rd Floor, Oakwood Village, OH 44146

800-963-4776

A practical transfer station where local residential and small commercial loads get compacted and sent off to a landfill. Neighbors bring their household cleanup, yard waste, and small construction debris here because it’s easier than driving all the way to a distant dump.

There’s an entrance booth and a short drive-in area where vehicles line up to be weighed; the site charges by weight so most people stop at the scale twice. Big roll-off bays and compactors dominate the yard, with recycling or drop-off bins usually set off to one side. Pull up to the attendant booth when it’s your turn, unload according to the signs and staff directions, then drive back over the scale on the way out. Weekends and spring cleanup days get backed up, and larger trucks navigate slowly because the yard is busy and a bit tight.

Before You Go

  • Sort materials before getting to the gate so unloading goes faster-keep recyclables, metal and bulky items separated if possible.
  • Expect lines on weekends and during spring cleanup; plan to arrive early or late in the afternoon to avoid the longest waits.
  • Secure loose loads with tarps and tie-downs and have any needed building-yard tools ready; the ground can be dusty or muddy depending on weather.
