Cambridge Transfer & Recycling

4217 John Glenn Hwy, Cambridge, OH 43725

Cambridge Transfer & Recycling is the local recycling center on John Glenn Highway that folks from Cambridge and nearby towns use to drop off recyclables. Most people swing by with carloads or small trailers during cleanup weekends. It's the sort of place neighbors recommend when trying to keep stuff out of the landfill.

Drive up the paved entrance and you'll see a small booth and a scale near the driveway; traffic usually flows past the booth to the unloading area. The recycling bins and transfer piles are to the right of the main building, with larger drop-off areas for bulk items beyond that. Expect to pull up, get directed where to unload, and then drive back over the scale if the site charges by weight. The yard is industrial-looking - concrete pads, stacks of materials, and heavy equipment moving things around are all part of the scene.

Before You Go

  • Bring items sorted by type and in containers that are easy to unload - loose bags or mixed loads slow things down.
  • Avoid peak weekend mornings if possible; spring cleanup days get the longest lines and a lot of trailers.
  • Have a clear route planned in the vehicle so backing up to bins is simple; tighter vehicles and small trailers are easier to maneuver in the yard.
