Athens-Hocking Reclamation Center is the local spot on Diamond Brick Road in Nelsonville where people drop off community and household waste. Neighbors, small haulers and anyone cleaning out a garage tend to use it, so expect a mix of cars, pickups and trailers on site.
There’s a small entrance booth and a scale close to the road; plan to stop there before heading in. The site opens up into a gravel lot with rows of large containers and piles-big trucks come through, so give them room. Pull up, follow the flow of vehicles to the right drop-off area, and be prepared to back in or walk a short distance to unload. Lines build on weekends and during spring cleanups, so waits are common.
