City of Fargo Landfill at 4501 7th Avenue North is Fargo’s primary landfill for both residential cleanups and commercial haulers. It’s a large, working site used by homeowners, contractors, and dump trucks from around town.
When you pull in there’s a scale and an entrance booth; fees are charged by weight so expect to stop on the way in and again on the way out. The tipping area is a big open pad with heavy equipment moving around, and trucks usually back up to dump so give plenty of room. The site looks like a wide expanse of mounded soil and working faces rather than neat bins, and there’s a steady mix of private vehicles and commercial rigs. Cold North Dakota winters can affect how the place runs, and weekends-especially spring cleanup season-tend to get backed up.
