Convenience Center

Wake County Convenience Center Site 11

5051 Wendell Blvd, Wendell, NC 27591

(919) 856-7400

A small convenience center off Wendell Boulevard used by local residents for curbside-type drop-offs. It looks like a neighborhood public drop point rather than a big transfer station, and people from Wendell and nearby towns swing by for household clear-outs and yard waste.

Drive in from Wendell Blvd and pull into a lane next to a small entrance booth and a concrete pad with several roll-off containers. Recycling bins are usually grouped together a short walk from the booth and the trash/yard waste containers sit on the main pad; lanes can be tight for larger trucks. Weekends, especially during spring cleanup, often have a line of cars and pickup trucks waiting; watch for backing vehicles and commercial haulers sharing the space. North Carolina has specific rules for electronics and hazardous items, so those materials are handled differently than regular household trash.

Before You Go

  • Sort everything at home into piles (recycle, yard waste, trash) so unloading at the bins is quick and keeps traffic moving.
  • Bring gloves and shoes that can get dirty; the ground is mostly gravel or concrete and things get dusty or muddy after rain.
  • Go early on weekdays if possible - weekends fill up fast, and larger trucks can block lanes during busy times.
