Upper Piedmont Regional Landfill on Oxford Road in Rougemont is the regional spot people use when a pickup bed or trailer is too full for curbside pickup. It’s literally the final place trash gets buried, so it’s all business - not pretty, but it works. Contractors and residents both show up with big loads.
There’s a scale/scale house at the entrance, so plan on being weighed and possibly stopping more than once because tipping fees are set by weight or volume. Pull up to the booth, follow directions to the active tipping area, and be prepared to back a trailer up to dump; heavy equipment and compactors are usually working nearby. The yard is mostly gravel and packed dirt with large mounds and lined cells, so expect dust and truck traffic. Weekends, especially spring cleanup, can get backed up and commercial haulers often move through on a separate schedule.
