(910) 750-1168Onslow County Recycling and Dump on Ramsey Road is the county recycling center that locals use when clearing out a truckbed or cleaning the garage. Folks from Jacksonville and nearby areas drop off cardboard, mixed recyclables, scrap metal, and other common household recyclables here. It’s the kind of place regulars know by the drive, the small entrance booth, and the rows of collection containers.
Pull in past the small booth at the entrance and have the load ready to tell them about; there’s usually a short pull-through area for trailers and trucks. Recycling bins and roll-off containers sit out in the open, with items sorted into separate containers - cardboard, metal, and mixed recyclables are common sights. Loads are typically weighed or inspected for sorting, so be prepared to stop twice if necessary: once to check in and again after unloading. Weekends can get backed up, especially during spring cleanups, and the site looks very much like a working yard with gravel, dumpsters, and a few signs marking the drop spots.
