Ingleside Compost Facility

3001 Ingleside Dr, High Point, NC 27265

(336) 883-8514

A straightforward composting site out on Ingleside Drive that High Point residents and landscapers use to drop off yard debris and food scraps. It’s the kind of place where pickups and trailers are common and you should expect to see piles of turned material and big windrows. Locals bring leaves, grass clippings and kitchen scraps for processing rather than taking them to the landfill.

Pull in past a small entrance booth and watch for staging lanes where trucks and trailers queue up. There’s a scale toward the entry/exit area for weighing loads, so allow a little extra time for that stop. The site looks industrial - mounds of brown and green material, heavy equipment working, and the smell of compost on warmer days. Weekends and spring cleanups are busiest, and residential vehicles sometimes have to wait behind commercial haulers.

Before You Go

  • Keep non-organics out of your load - plastics, glass and metal contaminate the compost and mean extra sorting for the site.
  • Cover loose loads with a tarp for the drive in; it keeps material from blowing onto the road and makes unloading neater.
  • Wear old shoes or boots and clothes that can get dirty; the ground is often muddy and the drop-off areas are rough.
