(919) 367-2895This is the Greenway Waste Solutions C&D landfill and compost site out on Old Smithfield Road in Apex. Contractors hauling construction and demolition debris use it, and residents dropping off big yard or renovation piles go here too. The place is large-scale - it’s where material gets buried and composted rather than recycled on site.
A guard/scale booth sits at the entrance and everyone drives over a scale; tipping fees are charged by weight so expect to stop both coming in and again on the way out. The landfill cells and compost windrows are visible from the roadway, with heavy equipment moving material around; it’s noisy and dusty at times. Pull into the booth lane and the attendants will direct where to tip; commercial trucks are common, so there’s traffic and larger turns to watch for. There are separate drop areas for different load types, and trailers or open-bed trucks often back to a berm to unload.
