(704) 875-3367Greenway @ North Meck Construction Landfill is the big, active landfill just off Holbrooks Road in Huntersville used by contractors and heavier haulers as well as residents with large loads. Trucks, dumpsters and pickup loads all go here when material needs to be buried rather than recycled or reused.
There’s a weigh station/scale at the entrance so loads are measured and tipping fees are set by weight-expect to stop on the way in and again on the way out. A small entrance booth handles checking vehicles before directing drivers to the tipping face; large construction trucks and rolloffs queue up on the gravel apron. The site is mostly open dirt and compacted cells with large equipment working the piles; tight turns can be tricky for longer trailers. Recycling drop-offs and special handling areas are usually off to one side, separate from the main burial area.
