GFL Fayetteville Transfer Station

583 Winslow St, Fayetteville, NC 28306

(910) 423-4122

GFL Fayetteville Transfer Station is the local spot where household and construction trash gets dumped and compacted before being hauled off to a landfill. Neighbors, handymen, and folks with truckloads use it when a curbside pickup won't cut it. It's on Winslow Street, not far from central Fayetteville.

There’s a small entrance booth and a drive-up scale area where vehicles will be weighed, so plan for a short stop in and another on the way out. The lot is industrial-think concrete pads, big roll-off containers and compacting equipment-so maneuvering a trailer takes some care. Recycling bins tend to sit off to one side past the booth, and larger roll-offs or bays are deeper inside the site. In North Carolina, electronics and hazardous materials usually have separate handling rules, so don’t assume those can be tossed in with a regular load.

Before You Go

  • Secure loose items and tarp open loads; wind and driving on site can shift debris.
  • Bring a form of ID or proof of residency if operating a truck for residential disposal-some stations ask for it before processing.
  • Arrive early on weekends or during spring cleanup season to avoid long lines; backing out with a trailer in a crowded lot is a hassle.
