Gaston County Landfill on Philadelphia Church Road is the county dump people from Dallas and the surrounding area use when curbside pickup won’t take something. Trucks and pickups both show up here, and larger haulers make runs too - what exactly is accepted and the rates depend on county/state rules. It’s basically where trash gets buried, so expect a working, no-frills place.
There’s an entrance booth/scalehouse and most loads are weighed and charged tipping fees by weight, so plan for a stop in and often another on the way out. The site is large and open with gravel roads, heavy equipment moving around, and piles or cells of compacted material - give big trucks plenty of space. Lines form on busy weekends and during spring cleanups, so wait times can be noticeable. After the weigh-in, vehicles are directed to unload areas; bring help for heavy or awkward items since it’s not a curbside drop.
