Davie County Landfill

360 Dalton Rd, Mocksville, NC 27028

(336) 998-6467

Davie County Landfill is the county dump out on Dalton Road in Mocksville where household and larger loads end up for burial. Neighbors, landscapers and haulers all bring stuff here; it's the final stop for things that won't fit in curbside trash.

There’s a scale to stop on and tipping fees are assessed by weight, so expect to pause twice - once in and once out. Pull up to the entrance booth for direction, then follow the gravel roads to the active cell and drop-off points; the site looks like big dirt piles and compacted cells rather than tidy bins. Trucks and trailers are common, so watch for backing vehicles and give the bigger rigs plenty of room.

Before You Go

  • Secure loads with tarps or straps - loose debris blows off on the drive and can make a mess for everyone.
  • Separate recyclables and anything that might be handled differently in North Carolina, like electronics or hazardous items, since those usually have separate rules or drop-off options.
  • Avoid weekend mornings during spring cleanup if possible; those times usually have the longest lines and more congestion.
