Davidson County Landfill is the county dump out on Old Highway 29 in Thomasville where household and larger truckloads are taken to be buried. Neighbors and local haulers use it for everyday trash and bigger cleanouts. The place looks like a working site-dirt piles, heavy equipment and a scale with a small entrance booth.
Drive up to a rough entrance area and you'll see a weigh scale and a booth; most vehicles stop to be weighed and then head out to the tipping area. Big trucks have room to turn, but trailers can need a little jockeying when it’s busy. Expect compacted piles, loaders moving material around, and trucks coming and going. Because tipping fees at landfills are commonly weight-based, vehicles often get weighed on the way in and again on the way out.
