City of Greensboro White Street Landfill is the municipal landfill on White Street where trash is buried as the final disposal. It serves both residential folks and commercial haulers. Like other landfills, it operates on a tipping-fee model-fees and accepted materials vary by location, and such sites commonly charge by weight or per load and often accept commercial loads at different rates.
This is a large, industrial-looking site with heavy equipment, dirt roads, and piles of compacted material. There’s a weigh scale and an attendant booth near the entrance; drivers usually stop at the booth and are directed toward the tipping area, then often cross the scale again on the way out. The ground can be dusty or muddy depending on weather, and truck traffic is constant so drive slowly and watch for big machinery. If drop-off or recycling areas exist, they’re typically off to one side past the entrance.
