(718) 370-2724Small but busy transfer station on the West Shore that locals bring household trash to instead of driving all the way to a landfill. Mostly used by Staten Island residents dropping off residential loads and by small haulers moving compacted loads along. Easy to spot from the service road if headed toward the ferry area.
Drive up to a manned entrance booth where vehicles are typically directed to pull forward and wait in line. There’s a scale nearby so expect to stop again after unloading - this place compacts garbage and trucks it out, not a landfill. The lot is open with large concrete bays and roll-off containers; recycling bins are usually clustered to one side past the booth. Lines build up on weekend mornings and during spring cleanup, so plan for a short wait if traffic is heavy.
