Modern Landfill Inc on Pletcher Road in Youngstown is the big, final-drop site for Model City and nearby towns. Trucks, haulers and residents use it to bury municipal and commercial refuse rather than sending loads to a transfer station. It’s a large-scale landfill that regularly handles commercial traffic as well as residential drop-offs.
There’s a small entrance area with a weigh scale, so plan to be weighed in and out - tipping fees at landfills are usually charged by weight. After the scale, traffic flows out toward the active cell where trucks tip; the site looks like lots of earthwork, berms and compacted piles rather than buildings or sorting lines. Commercial loads are commonly accepted at landfills of this scale and are typically billed under different fee structures than residential drops. Expect pickup trucks and roll-offs to stack up on weekends and especially during spring cleanup season.
