800-963-4776Valencia Regional Landfill and Recycling Facility in Los Lunas is the local spot people use when they need to drop off recyclables instead of hauling everything to a transfer station. Neighbors, contractors, and anyone clearing out a garage tend to show up here when there’s too much for curbside bins. It’s a recycling center focused on keeping common materials out of the landfill.
Pull in off Highway 6 and you'll see a typical industrial yard with piles and containers; there’s usually an entrance booth and a scale for vehicle weighing at many centers like this. The recycling area has large bins and roll-offs for paper, cardboard, plastics and metal cans, and some centers also accept bulky items or electronics during special events. Traffic can slow on weekend mornings and during spring cleanup, so expect a line if it’s busy and plan for a short wait. The site looks like a working yard-gravel, heavy equipment, and marked lanes-so drive slowly and follow on-site signs.
