Valencia County Landfill is the county dump out on an unnamed road near Los Lunas, where trash gets buried as the final stop. Residents and commercial haulers come here when trash or construction debris needs to be disposed of at a larger site.
Drive past a simple entrance area and a scale - most landfills charge tipping fees by weight, so vehicles are usually weighed. There’s a small check-in booth and then directions to an active dumping area, with big piles of dirt and compacted waste and heavy equipment working nearby. The site is wide open and can be dusty in dry weather or muddy after rain. Lines can build up, especially on weekends and during spring cleanup season.
