(505) 992-3017Santa Fe County Solid Waste is the county transfer and drop-off spot on Galisteo Road used by residents hauling household trash, yard trimmings and recyclables. Located a few miles south of town, locals bring pickups, trailers and the occasional box truck here for disposal and recycling.
The driveway leads to an entrance booth and a pair of scales; expect to pull up to the booth first and again on the way out if weight is measured. The site is open and dusty with large roll-off containers and piles of yard material visible from the road. Recycling containers are typically grouped off to one side near the entrance area, and there’s room to maneuver trailers and trucks without tight turns. Weekends and spring clean-up can create long lines, so plan for a wait rather than a quick in-and-out.
