(505) 330-8903Hilltop Solid Waste Transfer Station on Co Rd 7100 just outside Bloomfield is the local place to drop off household loads instead of driving out to a distant landfill. It’s a transfer station, so trash gets compacted on site and then trucked out to a landfill elsewhere. Neighbors and small contractors tend to use it for quicker trips close to town.
There’s a small entrance booth and a drive-over scale so loads are weighed; expect to stop at the scale. Pull into the single lane to the booth, move onto the scale, then follow the short drive to the tipping area where material is compacted and loaded onto larger trucks. The yard is open-gravel or pavement, piles of material, and the noise and dust that come with heavy equipment. Weekends and spring cleanup see the longest lines, so waits are common then.
