(575) 574-0024County solid waste site in Silver City used by local residents and small haulers. Large enough to handle household trash, yard debris and recyclables, it sits just off US-180 and looks like a typical rural disposal yard. People from town and outlying areas swing by when cleaning up the property or loading the truck.
There’s an entrance booth and a pull-up lane where vehicles pause to check in before driving onto the site. A scale is visible near the entry/exit, so expect to stop there again after unloading if the county charges by weight. Recycling bins and smaller drop-off containers tend to be grouped to one side, with larger roll-off areas and open tipping spots beyond them. The site is open to the desert landscape-dust and wind can be noticeable, and lines build up on weekends and during spring cleanup.
