Rolling Knolls Landfill is the big municipal dump out on Britton Road that residents and haulers use when regular pickup won’t do. It’s the place trash ends up buried, so expect trucks and larger commercial vehicles mixed in with pickup loads on busier days.
There’s a scale at the entrance - loads are weighed and tipping fees are charged by weight, so you’ll stop there coming and going. An entrance booth directs traffic and points drivers to the active dumping area; pull up, get waved through, and then back into the working face where trucks unload. The site is large and mostly open, with piles of cover material and compacted sections; on weekends or during spring cleanup it can back up. Commercial haulers do use this landfill alongside residents, so expect a steady stream of larger trucks at times.
